Coming from a very musical family, music has always been a natural part of Grettel’s life. At the age of 3, she was accepted to the Estonian Television Music Studio where she was able to pursue her love for singing both as a soloist and a choir member. Singing in a professional choir gave her the opportunity to perform with many artists around the world and to compete in prestigious choir competitions all around the Europe, Hong Kong and South Africa. As a kid, Grettel did voice-overs for different commercials and films in Estonian, such as “The Ice Age 2” “Charlotte’s Web” and “Despicable Me”.

After graduating Tallinn School of Music with honors studying classical piano in 2010, Grettel decided to focus on singing - she put together an a cappella group. Having trouble to find perfect arrangements for her contemporary-sounding pop group, she decided to challenge herself - she started to write her own arrangements. Her vocal group “2Loud” was the first group in the history to win the national a cappella ensemble competition twice in a row. Grettel’s arrangements received an award for the best arrangements in both years.

In 2014 and 2015, Grettel was selected to attend A Cappella Academy – a 10-day-long intensive summer programme in Los Angeles, co-founded by Ben Bram, Rob Dietz and one of the members of Pentatonix – Avi Kaplan, where she was able to develop her skills as a vocalist, performer, arranger, music director and a songwriter and work with the brightest minds in the field.
